Enjoyable Glare
Today, I'm staying at home. I'm sick. And at this very moment I am experiencing an enjoyable glare. Glare is known to be a discomfortable situation in indoor environment. But if you are away from your virtual window at office and laying back at your chair in front of your real window at home, there is nothing more enjoyable than a direct strong ray of sun hovering in the room and touching your eyes and skin. I love glare some times.

Rays and In-betweenness
some scenes are hard to describe as they are extensively sensuous. they create a multi-sensory experience which is visual, kinesthetic, auditory and olfactory. they are at the same time timeless, capturing the decay in present and future. all in all is an experience that is appreciated and pleasant. Rays of light falling on the fog is an image that for me talks about all these feelings and senses and memories. it creates a space in-between that is not reproducible but agreeable.

Light & Architecture
Eriksberg is a New residential area located in west Göteborg (Gothenburg)in Sweden facing the sea. There was a competitipn in 2007 on lighting layout of the whole area including a big crane. The lughting architecture office Ljusarkitrktur AB, my office at the time was one of the participants. I was in the design team of the competition. We won the design of crane and the sounding area. I then left Ljusarkitektur but the result was lit two years later and I took some pictures later on which I'm gonna share now.

How much organized work effects my findings?
this year I started research in light and architecture. the first two months has been on project definition. a lot of organizing has been going on.
1. the articles:gathering and citation record
2. the article digest:
each article is read and digested by answering the following:
context
problem to be solved
their position
it's limitations
why it relates to my topic
3.the meeting protocols
4.milestones
problem structure diagram
relevant articles
research presentation 1
research presentation 2
state of the art and outline of the research
research presentation 1: context, state of the art, problem to be solved , general approach
research presentation 2: context, chosen approach in detail, work plan, outcomes

Fear is the worst of feelings that I have experienced. If I am not what I dreamed to be at this moment, it is only and only because of this feeling;
fear of being wrong; fear of being alone; fear of not being fun; fear of not being accepted; fear of being judged; fear of being stupid; fear of not being strong; fear of sounding weird; fear of not knowing; ....

Visual stimulus and ornaments
I never thought of this before but I think the fact that Ihab (a friend) uses plant, decoration and similar stuff in his room is directly related to the fact that he shuts down the curtains not that he is a softy or something.
Shutting down the curtains is totally a cultural thing in his case (and ofcouse ours, too); protection from outside and isolation in the closet of God, bla bla bla... To compensate the loss of view, people simply use decorations...
He likes the light in the window frame, because it stimulates him a peripheral vision, it gives more information of his surroundings. Though, he wants to use a bobble light decoration, because he is not used to look outside the window and wants to entertain his eyes with the color and light variation which the bobble light creates.
Tell him that he should open up his curtains instead and stick to the normal lamp (preferably dimmable) at his window.
He was asking me before about this, so that is why I'm sending this email.

Out of the topic of light and into a simple ideology of family; a discussion came up today at breakfast time. It started with the usual question for these days; when is the best age to have a child? The discussion was specifically interesting as it addressed women passing 30 and still are not ready for being a mother, such as myself. Would 35 be a good age for a woman to have a child? Or would it be too late?
Then I led the discussion to my dream family style, which is to create a diversity in the family members by considering the adoption solution. If the definition of a family was changed so that it would be defined as two fosters and two to more children from different backgrounds, a micro-biodiversity would evolve in the family as a smallest social form.
Would this idea take away the harsh cultural borders that we create among us and would it change the definition of multiculturalism? Would then the diversity mean to have diverese skills, preferences, groups and social inclinations rather than diverese set if ethnicities? Why do we need to have clear lines between us? The geographical borders or cultural definitions? Is to decode people into different initial formats with help of stereo types, the only solution for us for feeling safe?
